Why Spirulina?

Spirulina is a blue-green algae that can provide most of your protein and nutrient needs. Spirulina is rich in protein, vitamins, minerals, and carotenoids (a type of antioxidant that can help protect cells from damage). It contains nutrients, including B complex vitamins, beta-carotene, vitamin E, manganese, zinc, copper, iron, selenium, and gamma linolenic acid (an essential fatty acid) What makes this so outstanding is the fact that you can grow it in your own home. Most people choose not to grow their own protein because of the time, space, and hassle associated with raising your own animals for your dietary needs.
Unlike raising animals, algae works pretty well just leaving it alone and within the space of an aquarium and is easier to maintain than a pet fish. A few simple things to take care of such as water pH, temperature, time. Once a sizable amount of Spirulina has formed it can be harvested every 3 days.
